Vienna Nights Reimagined — Discover the Historic Volksgarten Club Disco

The disco in inner Vienna is, in fact, situated in the center of a beautiful garden. The Volksgarten Club Disco boasts a storied history and has survived as a center of Viennese nightlife for decades, despite the ever-changing club culture.
When individuals “go to the Volksgarten,” they’re typically not meaning the park, but rather a disco. And not just any disco, but one of the city’s premier locales, and which has served as a touchstone in the city for generations. The history of the Volksgarten Club Disco goes back to 1822, when Peter Nobile built the Volksgarten as a hall of columns. After World War II, the Volksgarten was redesigned as a hit dance café by architect Oswald Haerdtl.
Haerdtl’s elegant 1950s style can still be identified easily in the Wintergarten conservatory and gives the disco its own atmosphere. Wintergarten with palm bed, Fifties original furnishings, and ancient chandeliers is the ideal place for everyone who sometimes wishes to take a quick break from the dance floor. From a visual standpoint, the Wintergarten is a respite from the lighted perforated sheets of the disco itself and of the entrance area that was inserted during a more recent remodel.
Currently, the big complex of the Volksgarten provides outdoor and indoor party nights with international big shots of the DJ culture. The sound is house, disco, and party hits.
